If you do not want to replace the entire lock, you can add a security pin in the locking mechanism or change the material that the springs in the locks are made of. Either way you choose to go, you just want to make sure that your lock is going to keep unwanted visitors out of your home. You want to make sure that the locks are not going to be able to be picked. Deadbolt locks are always a good way to go with your outside doors.
Door Material
Another important part of your outside door is the material that the door is made out of. If you have an outside door has a solid core, it is going to be a lot harder for it to be broken down with force. Solid core doors are also going to last a lot longer than other doors. All outside doors should have solid cores. Steel doors and solid wood doors are some of the best options that should be used. Hollow doors are going to be much cheaper but they are not going to keep unwanted guests from breaking the door down easily. When it comes to security, you are going to get what you pay for. If you do need to replace your door, it is a simple task.
